I am in love with the new 12 part block of the month sampler by Donna Baylis of By The Bay Needleart....12-part "block of the month" sampler called Serenity Harbor Sampler. Each month in 2015, a new section will come out. This sampler takes you from the ocean to the shore and and when completed will be approximately 31 1/4" x 9 3/4" if stitched on 36 ct. linen. While Donna does list DMC colors, she encourages each stitcher to use their own favorites, so pick out silks or over-dyed flosses or stitch with the DMC....you make the decision. If you don't feel comfortable changing to silks, well just let us know and we'll help you out. Linen...same thing...pick a favorite linen, whatever color you want, whatever count you want. I personally am stitching this on 36 ct. Light Examplar from Lakeside Linen, but we've helped pick out other colors in the shop for stitchers. When you sign up for the series, we'll give your name to Donna and she'll invite you to the blog for the design where you can post your progress. For those who sign up for the year, Donna will have a special Free needle book/project kit that she will be working on which will be personalized with your first name and the year of your birth.
