Stingy Jack & Friends...................Erica Michaels

This fun and quirky set of jack-o-lanterns is inspired by the legend of Stingy Jack, which is likely the basis for our contemporary jack-o-lantern traditions. Five distinct jack-faces with endless options to make your own unique, each face is stitched on a larger cut of fabric - then stitched up the back, gathered top and bottom, and tufted to make the models as shown here. So many options depending on your fabric and floss selections - make them all different as Linda has shown on the chart pack or a matching set in the same fabric and floss - or any combination you like.  Linda has listed the fabrics and flosses used in the models. Also included are finishing guidelines, templates and diagrams.  You will also notice some interesting display bases here. She has used an old glass insulator for Skinny Jack, and glass candlesticks turned upside down for Stingy Jack and Scary Jack. It’s fun to play with what you might already have around the house, or that interesting ‘thing’ you found in an antique store!

In this reassuring excerpt from Psalm 91, Linda kept things simple and added a few feather-like motifs to the central message. There is also a subtle vertical stripe pattern in the background accented with small backstitching.
Rather than traditional framing, the completed silk gauze rests over a strip of vintage lace and is anchored with old buttons for a different look. Silk Gauze included with the chart.  Finish Size is approx. 3.3/4" x 2"

Ar hyd y nos  (or In stiller nacht) is the familiar lullaby set to a traditional Welsh melody and inspiration for this design. Linda used portions of the refrain and one verse in this elegant design. The larger version on linen is ideal for a birth remembrance; consider tucking the pertinent details into one of the border sections, using it as a cartouche.  Stitched on 40 ct. gauze (included with the chart) the finished size is approx. 3.5" x 2 1/4".  If you are intimidated by 40 count gauze but love the design, stitch on your favorite linen.  Stitched using (not included)
