Barbara Ana Designs has three new charts celebrating the "girls", witches that is! The first chart, "Three Witches" Three friends, what are they up to? There's the plump one, key hanging from her waist over her apron, grey dress patched up all over. Her broom seems to be growing into a tree. There's the tall one, with a Quaker patterned dress. She's holding a crystal ball and a lizard is hanging from her hand. A black cat is at her feet, seemingly scared stiff. And finally, there's one in an elegant brown dress, with a high collar and golden motifs. A crow is perched on her arm. She's holding a snake in one hand, a toad in the other. A fun stitch and an easy stitch for fall have been introduced by Janice, owner of Noteworthy Needle Designs, on the craft pumpkins sitting in stores waiting for you. There are three booklets, Halloween Edition, Autumn Edition and Monogram edition. First you pick a design, then you tape that design to the pumpkin, and then you use a Dremel drill or the Noteworthy Needle hand drill (which is so simple I think it's better and more accurate than the Dremel) to punch through the pumpkin (if you look at the pattern shown you will see 4 small black round circles around each symbol..those are the holes you punch). You stitch these using pearl cotton fibers. In the beginning of the stitch it may feel a little awkward holding the pumpkin and stitching through it at the same time, but in no time you will adjust to it. What better way to decorate for the fall than to stitch on pumpkins. Makes a beautiful display of needlework even better. The carving kit includes the push drill, drill bit, tape and a craft knife

This fun and quirky set of jack-o-lanterns is inspired by the legend of Stingy Jack, which is likely the basis for our contemporary jack-o-lantern traditions. Five distinct jack-faces with endless options to make your own unique, each face is stitched on a larger cut of fabric - then stitched up the back, gathered top and bottom, and tufted to make the models as shown here. So many options depending on your fabric and floss selections - make them all different as Linda has shown on the chart pack or a matching set in the same fabric and floss - or any combination you like. Linda has listed the fabrics and flosses used in the models. Also included are finishing guidelines, templates and diagrams. You will also notice some interesting display bases here. She has used an old glass insulator for Skinny Jack, and glass candlesticks turned upside down for Stingy Jack and Scary Jack.
