Shepherd’s Bush latest designs have finally arrived and I’m in my glory. They have several new kits including, “Life and Liberty.” A 6x6 design which features a patriot waving his flag. Stitched on 32ct Antique Ivory Belfast Linen in soft silk shades of butter, moss, grays, and some rose silk fibers from Gloriana and Thread Gatherer. The embellishment package has tiny Just Another Button Company tiny buttons used to embellish the piece. While there are a few special stitches, it is small and therefore will be a quick stitch. As usual this is not the typical red, white and blue patriotic piece. The colors are very subdued, a little more sophisticated I’d say, which is what makes it so gorgeous.
This is a great international piece...the design features additional flag charts for Great Britain, Canada, France and Australia, all pictured in the kit. The little house on the hill has waving flags in the front yard as well as the famous Shepherd’s Bush sheep who are grazing happily on the hill. Offered as a complete kit, the design size is approx. 5”x9” on the 18 ct. Lambswool linen. Floss included, both DMC and Weeks overdyeds and there is also a pack of button embellishments. Again, it should be a fast stitch on 18 ct.

These are fast, east projects and can be done in a night or two. And with all Shepherd's Bush designs, the colors are fabulous. Perfect for traveling because this larger count is so easy to work on if light is a problem. And if you don’t like using the 10ct, the design would be dear on a smaller count and you could make a scissor fob on linen. Cute, Cute, just too cute!
Same great hands-free magnifier as original MagEyes except with two stronger lens included. 5.0 (2.25 magnification) and 7.0 (2.75 magnification).
“Country Cloth to Coverlets”.........a textile tradition in the 19th Century Central Pennsylvania. The necessity for yardage and the other products of the weaver’s loom assured that the development of the art of weaving would parallel the development of our nation. Pennsylvania, as a keystone of the colonies, shared this early textile heritage. Maureen Appleton is presenting her revision of those covertlets in kits called Splendor. All the the monochromatic designs come as full kits with everything included. These are over one designs, although you could purchase more floss and a larger piece of linen and do them over two. They are exquisite pieces when completed. Splendor I is done in Burgundy floss while Splendor II uses a light tan. Wonderful needlebooks and scissor fobs can be made pulling out the designs within the piece, such as the rabbits. Both are done on an ivory linen. Splendor II is 6.25” x 18” when finished
