Knit 'n Bitch The second Monday of every month will be our meeting in the shop. It begins after lunch around 1:00 pm and lasts until we close at 4:00 p.m.
Stitch 'n Bitch The second Tuesday of every month (Jan. thru June) we meet in the evening in the shop. Shop opens around 6:30p.m. and we stitch until around 9:30 or 10:00 p.m.
Sherri Jones Weekend April 19-21, 2013...Blue Ribbon Sewing Box... This handsome sewing box made exclusively for Patrick’s Woods is an exquisitely handcrafted adaptation of an antique sewing box. The box is made of fine cherry wood and measures approx. 6 ¼” wide x 4 ¾” tall (with legs) and 3 ½” deep. Both sides of the box open wide for access. The interior is finished with two silk lined panels that have stitched slip pockets. The pockets are embellished with woven ribbon and embroidered floral sprays. The bottom of the box is fitted with a silk lined tool pad and a removable mattress style pyn pillow. Smalls include a needle book, pyn keep and berry scissors ornament. Pieces are stitched with silk on 32 count linen. Scrimshaw pieces shown in the photo not included in the kit, but can be ordered separately. This is a pre-stitch class. The cost for the weekend, which includes lodging for 2 nights, breakfast for 2 days, lunch on Saturday and the class kit is $460.00. Hare Pyns...This is an additional class you can take over the weekend, or you can come for the weekend for just this class. A stitcher’s pocket designed simply to make you smile. The pocket is fitted with a needle keep, Hare Pyns keep, scissors sheath and fob, pyn cushion, and a Hare rule and Hare thread palette. Stylized tulips and ripples of Florentine embroidery flourish, and profiles of hares peak out from unexpected places to delight the stitcher. The pocket measures 5” wide x 6” high when closed. The pocket is solidly stitched on 30 count linen with silks in rich tones of flame reds, meadow greens, blue greens and taupes. It is finished by hand with a grosgrain ribbon edging and a depression-era clear pressed glass button, side gussets and a pocket divider for housing all of your favorite tools. Class time will emphasize hand finishing instruction. Kit includes wood Hare rule and thread palette. This is a pre-stitch class. The cost for this class when added on to the first class is $165.00. For those who would like to come for the weekend and just take the Hare Pyns class the total cost would be $340.00 for the kit, 2 nights lodging, breakfasts, and lunch.
Betsy Morgan Weekend Gathering for Winter
June 7-9, 2013...We are excited to welcome Betsy Morgan back for another exciting weekend. She will be teaching 2 classes this year, "Gathering for Winter" and "Tall Year Square". The class for Gathering Winter is $310 and includes 2 night lodging, breakfast and lunch, and class kit. Tall Year Square is $360 and includes 2 night lodging, breakfast and lunch, and class kit. If you want to take both classes then it would be $525. For those students who are registered for Tall Year Square they can have the option of purchasing her "All Year Square kit" for $75.day. Stitcher's Spring Retreat May 3-5, 2013...Join us for a fun filled weekend of stitching at the beach. Bring your UFO's to finish, share ideas, or to just stitch all weekend without any interruptions. This weekend is dedicated strictly to stitching!!! The total cost for the weekend is $204.00 based on double occupancy. Accommodations will be at The Lankford Hotel located on 8th Street and the Boardwalk (Salty Yarns is located in the hotel). The weekend includes a welcoming reception on Friday night, a "goodie bag" and a continental breakfast each morning. Ocean City Stitcher's Jamboree Oct. 11-13,2013....Come join us in Ocean City, Md., and take advantage of one of the favorite getaway spots on the Atlantic Ocean. Lodging will be provided by the Lankford Hotel, located directly on the boardwalk (8th and the Boardwalk). Just imagine an entire weekend with fellow stitchers and wonderful designers. Featured Designers Lauren Sauer will be returning with one of her exclusive designs. Last time Lauren was here she designed the cutest Maryland pillow for a miniature adirondack chair. We're hoping she does the companion piece this time that she talked about. Linda Lautenschlager will also be a returning teacher with one of her exclusive designs. Last time she was here she designed the Lankford Hotel sampler...which is the location of our retreat...so cute. Patti Connor, SamSarah Design Studio will be a first time teacher here with a design infused with her quirky view of the world. If the teachers send us a preview of their class piece we will put it up here so you can see it so check back once a month to see if it's here.
