Mocha by Weeks Dye Works and it's finished size is approx. 6 3/4" x 6".  Included in the booklet are complete finishing instructions and an alphabet so you can personalize your sampler.  The model was stitched using

ABC Pyn Roll and Bargello Sheep Pinkeep........Jeannette Douglas Designs

Sometimes a little set of smalls comes out of a bigger sampler mostly because you enjoy them so much you want to rework them a bit and have a nice little set of matching accessories to the bigger sampler and this was what happened with the English Beauty last year. Creating ABC pyn Pillow and Bargello Sheep Needlekeep  was a natural for Jeannette.   It was stitched on 32ct Lt Mocha Zweigart  fabric but can be done on any neutral fabric. There are 3 pieces to this set: a Needlebook with an insert to it, making a removable pincushion and a large long rectangle shaped pyn roll that can have quite a few uses.  A cut piece of fabric of 13" x15" will generously stitch all the pieces. There is a silk thread pack and a finishing pack with the wool and other items to finish as you see in the photo.

ABC Sampler.......................Jeannette Douglas

We've seen Jeannettes love of  typefaces and playing with fonts before but here she has  combined her love of typefaces with her love of samplers and stitching to create the ABC Sampler..  It is  a large sampler with the abc cross stitched and then 3 bands of lovely specialty stitches grouped into 3 types of smaller samplers. One focuses on just the specialty stitches in the needlepoint group, then blackwork is the focus and lastly is the motif type sampler. It is stitched on a neutral fabric on several different counts, whether you like 32 ct or 35,36 all will look equally well, as well as 40 ct. It uses silk threads and the design size is 8" x 13  1/3.  You have the option of stitching this as one sampler, or you can split it up and stitch the  ABC part which measures approx. 8" x 9" and  each band sampler separately and on different fabrics.  Each band sampler  finishes approx.  3" x 5.50".

Bird Box..........................Jeannette Douglas Designs

Since ancient times birds have been connected with the sky and having a super natural link between heaven and earth. We seem to be so enchanted with birds! We love birds on samplers and small pin cushions or  scissors fobs. They are a joy to stitch. In this chart you will meld your abilities to stitch and do some finishing as these parts all fit into a box created for the sampler and the smalls called a shadow box and in this case Jeannette is calling it Bird Box. It is comprised of a sampler about 4" x 6" and then 3 small squares under 2" x2 which create a place for biscornu,  a needlekeep and a scissors pocket on the back to fit into the tray. Model is shown stitched on 32 ct.  Butter Pecan by Lakeside Linens.  There is a  silk thread pack available as well as a separate wool pack.

Gilmour House Sewing Tray.............With Thy Needle & Thread

The inspiration for this pattern comes from an antique woven wool coverlet by the Gilmour brothers of Union County, Indiana ~ circa, 1839.  The sturdy farmhouse between two trees with a picket fence was their signature motif.   The design is worked on 40 ct. PTP Ale linen over 2 threads.  The piece is then finished in a cute little wooden tray (which we carry)...a perfect place to rest your needle and pins.  Finish size is approx. 7"x3".  The tray comes unfinished, but she includes painting and distressing instructions for you.   If you can't stitch on 40 ct., any count you prefer will do it just won't fit in this tray.  Stitched using Weeks Dye Works Light Khaki.

Simple Pleasures Sewing Pouch..........................Stach Nash Primitives

Having completed 4 pouches so far, this piece appealed to me because it's a pouch and secondly, it's the first floral pouch and I loved the strawberry pincushion.  Shown stitched on 32 ct. Weeks dye Works Parchment Linen, the finished design is approx. 12"x14".  Stitched using Classic Colorworks:Hickory Sticks, Barn Door, Antique Lace, Pea Pod, Copper Penny, and Old Money.  Big enough to keep your stitching supplies in and have it hanging next to your stitching chair ready for the stitching to begin.

Spotted Pigs Pinkeep.................Stacy Nash

You don't see a lot of pigs in stitching, so this momma Sal and her little piglets are rare and so adorable!  Stacy has added floral elements around the family of pigs, but the center of attraction has to be the little brown spotted piglets.  While it seems a little large for a pin cushion, many of us have a lot of decorative pins so this may be just the right size for pin collectors.  Finished size is approx. 10" x 7" when stitched on 32 ct. linen (model stitched on Picture This Plus Murkey).  Stitched with Gentle Arts Threads: Carriage Black, Lambswool, Apple Cider, Antique Rose, Rose Garden.

Jack's House Pinkeep....................Stacy Nash Primitives

Get a jump start on your Halloween stitchin' with Jack's House Pinkeep.  Stacy's pinkeeps seem to run large, as this one finishes approx. 5.5" x 9.5", but I also think this would make a great pouch design.  How cute hanging on your door in October with branches stuck in it with small skeletons hanging from the branches, or pumpkins to mimic the design.  Lot's can be done with this.  Shown stitched on 32 ct. Natural Belfast linen and stitched with Gentle Arts Sampler Threads:Picnic Basket, Gingersnap, and Roasted Marchmallow.

Halloween Pinkeep......................Stacy Nash Primitives

Another oversized pinkeep from Stacy, but they just keep getting better.  Shown stitched on 32 ct. Dirty Linen it finishes approx. 7.5" x 5.75" and is stitched using Gentle Arts Threads:Carriage Black, Straw Bonnet, Endive, and Gingersnap.  This would also be great as a pillow stitched on one of the new 20 ct. linens...the finished size on that would be 11" x 8"...which would be a nice size.  So if a pinkeep isn't your thing, try the 20ct.

Celebrating a special moment, a special birthday or want to commemorate an event? This pattern is in honour of Jeannette reaching a special birthday this year.  A Banner Occasion says it all, whether it is a birthday as in Jeannette's case or some other milestone, it would be lovely to stitch.  It finishes approx. 6" x 6 1/2″ on 32 ct linen (model stitched on Light Examplar by Lakeside Linens.)    The pattern has the special Poppy Thread from Australia's Cottage Garden Thread  Co. included in the chart and the Kelmscott  and tiny Micro buttons used in the piece. The other threads used are Gentle Art and Weeks Dye Works cottons.

Latest release from Little House takes me back to childhood when we use to link  our fingers and make a church and steeple out of our hands and say, "Here's the church, Here's the steeple, open the doors and see all the people"....does anyone even do that anymore?  Anyway, for me this will be a link to my inner child.  Stitched on 32 creek bed brown linen by R & R using Classic Colorworks, khaki mocha, pea pod, black coffee, English ivy, river rocks and roasted chestnut, and DMC 729 & 950.  Finished size is approx. 7.5" x 7.5"

Afternoon in New York, London and Paris..............Country Cottage

Nikki Leeman started a series depicting an afternoon in major cities.  So far she has designed for London, Paris and now New York.  Famous landmarks are shown in each and you can choose to stitch the whole scene or perhaps just pick out elements to stitch.  While New York has the Empire State building, I just adore the taxi and food carts.  And I adore the double decker bus and red phone booth on London even though Big Ben and Buckingham Palace are there and for Paris..well I do like the Eiffel Tower, but the hot air balloons are a big attraction for me, as well as the outdoor café.   Based on Nikki's interpretation, I'd live in either of these cities.  The finished size on all three scenes is approx. 13"x4".

Afternoon in New York is stitched on 32 ct. Water Lily and stitched with

DMC:347, 3072, 3328, 3787, 3821, 3822, white

Little Red Chair Sampler............The Scarlett House

The Little Red Chair Sampler was designed for the Attic's Summer School Soiree in 2014, but is now available for everyone...yeah!  Love the design elements, we had those ladder back chairs at our house, although ours were not red and the border is one of my favorites.  The model was stitched on 45 ct. Meadow Rue from Lakeside Linens.  Remember though, if you can't work on counts this small, just pick a larger count, it would still be a wonderful sampler on 32 ct or 28 ct. linen.  This is suppose to be fun and enjoyable, not a stitch you struggle through.  She has used the Gloriana Tudor Silk to stitch this in the following colors:

Gloriana Tuder Silk:Olivine, Schoolhouse Red, Ironwood, Attic Blue, Thistle Green, and Antique Black

Patriotic Scissor Pocket.....The Scarlett House

Patriotic Scissor Pocket consists of 3 charts, small pillow and 2 fobs, one large and one small.  Tanya stitched the pillow on 40 count sand linen over 2 threads and stitched the fobs on 28 ct. Sand over one thread.   Instead of stitching 2 fobs, you could stitch one of the designs as a pin cushion and stitch it over 2 on 28 sand.  That way you would have a scissor pocket, fob, and a pin cushion.  The finished size of the pillow is 4.75" x 5" when stitched over 2 on 40 ct. Sand.  The finished size of the large fob is 1.50" x 1.75" when stitched over 1 on 28 ct. Sand.  The finished size of the small fob is 1" x 1.25" when stitched over 1 on 28 ct. Linda is continuing her patriotic theme with Grant House and with this sampler she gives you an opportunity to use sections for other things, for instance needlebooks, scissor fobs, pin cushions, oh the ideas are just flowing.  Whenever a designer blocks off sections my mind turns to other ways to use the design.  Just because they show it as a framed sampler does not mean you have to use it that way.  Anyway, Linda stitched this on 32 ct. Weeks confederate grey linen using both Sampler threads and Weeks.  There is over one stitching in this piece.  Approx. design size is 5.25" x 9"

Delaware House Stitch Book...................Chessie & Me

I Love these book boxes that Linda designs.  I've done a couple and it's easy to finish and easy to stitch. You have 3 pieces to stitch, the outside cover, a inside lid piece and the fob.   Delaware is close to my heart because she taught this at the Delaware Sampler Guild and I happen to be a member of that guild and many of their members are friends of the shop.  Finishing the book boxes is simple enough and mounting the stitching is easy enough so grab your linen and get started.  And what a wonderful way to store your supplies as it can hold scissors, needles, fibers, a tape measure, etc.    Delaware House is stitched on 36 ct. Vintage Meadow Rue from Lakeside using Weeks Dye Works floss, bullfrog, dolphin, grasshopper, Havana, mascara, red rocks, schneckley, swampwater and teal frost.

You will need a piece of weeks wool to put under the design for mounting, Chestnut Houndstooth  is used here.

Gathering of Sheep..............................Chessie & Me

This was a fun stitch for me when I received it as part of a club.  It introduced me to finishing on the tote and started a love affair with using designs on the tool caddy.  But Gathering of Sheep was my first and therefore my all time favorite tool caddy design, and sits on my coffee table so it's handy when I need another needle, scissors, tape measure, etc.  It can hold many things.  The design on the tool caddy is so cute with Linda's sheep standing at attention keeping an eye on you as you stitch and it features her satin stitched grassy hills which are fun and fast.  In fact this design really only take a few days to stitch...all over two threads, and a few specialty stitches thrown in for interest.  There are three pieces to stitch, the tool caddy, needlebook (and this is one of the largest I've ever stitched) and a fob.     You'll also need some Weeks Kohl Houndstooth Wool for mounting and backing.

Friendship Garden......................Chessie & Me

Friendship Garden is the perfect piece to give to a stitching friend.   "Friends are the gardeners who make our souls blossom." is the verse, with a chessie and me house, flowers and a large green yard! After reading the verse I thought this would make a wonderful gift be for a stitching friend.  Stitched on Weeks 32ct Parchment Linen using Sampler threads: carriage black, loganberry, mountain mist, mustard seed, old purple paint and Weeks Dye Works: bullfrog, grasshopper, and tin roof.  I love the tray as the frame for it and how useful will that be.  It can hold your floss, scissors, glasses, etc. for you as you stitch.  Design size is approx 5" x 8" so it fits the Doodlin' Around Tray perfectly.

American Stag Kit............................Chessie & Me

American Stag is Linda's semi-annual mini-kit.  Following the patriotic theme this year, there is a peaceful cabin with a flag flying across the sky making it very patriotic.  There's quite a bit going on here for such a small design, and I love it.   Finishes approx. 3" x 4" and contains everything you need, 36 ct. Vintage woodsmoke linen from  Lakeside Linens, with both Weeks and Gentle Arts floss included.   As with all of Linda's designs you will find a couple of specialty stitches, Satin Stitches, long arm crosses, 4 sided stitch, Smyrna crosses and some tent stitch.

Liberty's Welcome................Plum Street

This is a wow piece....it's really large for Plum Street, finishing approx. 19" x 12" on 36 ct. Ligonier Latte by R & R.  You really need to study it a while to see everything it contains....like the American Eagle holding the arrows, etc, the flag bunting on the horse drawn coach (I actually missed that first look I was so busy studying the sky.)  The border is lovely, the house is beautiful done in dapple grey, I love the 2 flags depicting the first I assume and todays.  I'm not normally a border person, but this is a gorgeous border.  The colors she has picked to stitch with are lovely and go together so well.  If you are a stitcher of patriotic pieces, this really is a must have. Paulette says this goes with her Yuletide and Ghoultide Welcomes.

Needlepoint, Inc. fibers: Sea Green, (159), Blue Green (641), Dapple Gray (965), Taupe (981), Brick (124), Palomino Gold (694), White (991BB), Russet Red (207), Williamsburg Blue (325),  Russet Red Range (202), Mouse Gray (975), Palomino Gold (693), Meadow Green (348), Burnt Umber (584), Russet Red Range (205), Brick (126)

Paulette was inspired to create French Woolens from her love of French linen tea towels and wooly sheep.  She has included an alphabet chart to assist you in personalizing the sampler.  I love that the shepherdess is wearing a dress to match the striped sheep...so cute!  Stitched on 36 ct. Vintage Examplar using Gentle Art's (wood smoke, toasted barley, oatmeal, freedom, endive, dark chocolate, country redwood, wood trail, soot, cherry bark) and Classic Colorworks (hickory sticks, stepping stones) fibers.  The finished size is approx. 5" x 6.25".
