The third tiny card design in this 12-part set has arrived. The 'red thread' that joins all of us all year long flows through the March kites. Stitch this alone for a small springtime piece, or join it with the rest inside the neat main border chart that is offered free when you purchase the fabric for the entire set of charts.  Finishing approx 2-1/2 x 2-1/2, the entire year's piece will finish approx 2-1/2 x 30. Fun way to stitch...easy to stay ahead of the game by stitching each chart as it comes out, stitch that section of the border and then you get to move on to another project until the next chart comes out, and so on and so on until the last chart arrives and then that's all you have to do to finish the piece.

Red Velvet Building Blocks....Blue Ribbon Designs

A wonderful alphabet sampler with a motif for each letter. Looking at the design, each letter of the alphabet has a small motif square and a large geometric square. The large geometric square contains the letter of the alphabet "hidden" at least four times. Here is an example: the letter "A" has a small motif square containing an apple and a large geometric square with the letter "A" hidden four times. You can easily design your own sampler by choosing a word or name and then stitching the squares containing the letters of your word. The designer tacked a small needle in the motif square for the letter "N",  put her initials in the motif square for the letter "I", and placed the year in the motif square for the letter "Y". This piece is designed for you to be as creative as you would like to be! And while it is shown in Red, you can use your favorite color.   Have fun with it!

Stars and Stripes....Little House Needleworks

As Memorial Day approaches I get very patriotic and this one is small enough I could actually get it done in time.  A quaint country house, complete with sheep and a flag in the yard.  Cute...isn't it?   Stitched in DMC flosses, it finishes approx 4 x 4 on 32ct.  When a design is this small I also like to add interest with a specialty button, or a charm or perhaps use some decorative stitches...well if I really get industrious I could do the sheep in punchneedle, but perhaps just some Rainbow Gallery fiber would be easier...oh the possibilities are endless.  This would also be cute done as a cube and be free standing.  I still have room for pictures at my house because all of my pictures are in the shop, but I have taken some of my cubes and stand ups home...and I put them out for the different occasions...looks great and gives you something different to look at.

French Heart.....Shepherd's Bush

I have loved this sampler since it was first introduced....unfortunately, I started stitching it in the wrong place, got 1/4 way done before I realized it, stuffed it in a bag and threw it in the closet.  I just dug it out, got a new piece of linen and started over....and it's still a favorite piece for me.  This sampler is full of tiny detailed motifs, florals, and features a darling Victorian-styled handmade clay shoe button! Stitched on 32ct Italian Sienna linen, in soft, delicious shades of pastel silks, there are lots of special stitch touches mixed in with all the details. It measures a mere 6 x 7 inches, so sweet, it's available as a complete kit.  Framed in the specialty Jill Rensel frame makes it even more special.

Scripture Series....Little House Needleworks & Crescent Colours

Just like the Fruit-of-the-Month Series... here is another small set of designs featuring Crescent's overdyed flosses. Each design features a different Scripture verse, and will include its necessary flosses to stitch on 14 or 28ct. Finishing approx 4 x 4, Wisdom features an apple basket stitched in deep, rich reds, mahogany, and some dark green. These would be neat stitched on a long bell-pull or in a horizontal strip, stitch four together on a pillow, and you can always stitch them individually and group them, or pick one for each friend as a gift. As the fabric is not included, you get to work on your favorite linen or Aida.  There are now 5 kits in this series, including Patience and Peace.

An Irish Blessing....Twisted Threads

"May the road rise up to meet you...May the wind be always at your back...May the sun shine warm upon your face...And the rains fall soft upon your fields...And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand."  While I stitched this over one thread on a 30 ct. R. & R. fabric, you could certainly do it over 2 on 14 ct. Aida or 28 ct. linen.  A "must have" for every Irish person you know!

Winter Welcome....Waxing Moon Designs

Could it get any easier...stitch Winter Welcome,  stitch the specialty buttons on and "BAM" you are done!  The glitter tree button looks great on this piece, as does the snowman, both together is a bit overdone to me, but who am I?  Anyway, you can use both buttons, one button and save the other button for another project, or stitch two of these and use one button on each.  This will work up in a jiffy..approximate design size is 4 1/2" x 4 1/2".  Of course the frame really enhances the design so you might want to pick one of those up as well.  Chart & Buttons are included.
