The Hometown Holiday Series has a new resident, #13 - The Bookstore. The recommended linen initially was 30 ct. Northern Cross Natural, but don't be afraid to experiment here. While there are other ways of finishing, if you do want to do stand ups, go to www.littlehouseneedleworks.com for the tutorial on how to do that. You can pick the linen of your choice, perhaps Lambswool, or Raw Linen, any neutral linen would be good and you can pick the count you are most comfortable with. Brenda was inspired by an antique German Santa and the wooly Putz sheep when she designed this Christmas door hanger. I'm already looking at it seeing it done over 2 on the 18 ct. linen which would make the pillow about 14" x 8", perfect for a chair or sofa....but back to the door hanger. While she added a bell to hang around the sheep's neck, I would also add beads for the snowman buttons and eyes and perhaps put a star on the top of the trees, well, let's just say this would give you plenty of opportunities for embellishment, if that is your thing to give the piece texture and detail. As shown the finished size is approx. 7 1/8" x 3 1/2" when stitched on Legacy Linen by Picture This Plus using Weeks Dye Works: Sandcastle, Pelican Gray-Gentle Arts:Apricot Blush, Woodrose, Apple Cider, Pumpkin Pie, Wood Trail, Endive-Classic Colorworks:Cili Pepper, Eggshell and Hazelnut.
