Stingy Jack & Friends...................Erica Michaels

This fun and quirky set of jack-o-lanterns is inspired by the legend of Stingy Jack, which is likely the basis for our contemporary jack-o-lantern traditions. Five distinct jack-faces with endless options to make your own unique, each face is stitched on a larger cut of fabric - then stitched up the back, gathered top and bottom, and tufted to make the models as shown here. So many options depending on your fabric and floss selections - make them all different as Linda has shown on the chart pack or a matching set in the same fabric and floss - or any combination you like.  Linda has listed the fabrics and flosses used in the models. Also included are finishing guidelines, templates and diagrams.  You will also notice some interesting display bases here. She has used an old glass insulator for Skinny Jack, and glass candlesticks turned upside down for Stingy Jack and Scary Jack. It’s fun to play with what you might already have around the house, or that interesting ‘thing’ you found in an antique store!

Christmas Memories..............Blackberry Lane Designs

This is actually the first tree Blackberry Lane designed in 2015 but I never got it in the catalog, but since I stitched this for Christmas I thought it was time.  Like her Halloween Tree and Liberty tree, this is stitched on 32 ct. linen (she used polka dot Natural linen, and I used 32 ct. antique white linen).  Like the others, it is a kind of  feather tree featuring branches filled with antique Christmas toys and trinkets. Two different designs -- both feature the trees cross stitched over two threads with long stitches to mimic the pine needles. THEN, the ornaments are all stitched over one thread. Absolutely incredible design detail -- Marie Driskell excels at this sort of thing! -- you won't believe how beautiful all the little toys are! Snowmen, angels, dolls, sheep, a nutcracker, caboose, gingerbread man, Santa a horn, trains, each one cuter than the next.  The smaller version is worked on 32ct lambswool and finishes approx.  2-1/2"  x 4".  Shown are the larger trees which measure approx. 3" x 5".  Stitched with DMC, 304, 310, 318, 420,422, 433, 434, 470, 666, 676, 712, 728, 746, 758, 780, 782, 783, 869, 898, 930, 931, 935, 937, 3022, 3801, 3822, 3828, 3853, 3854, B5200

Wild Salt Air.........................Hands on Design

This nautical design actually came out in summer of 2017 as a limited kit called "Dream of the Sea" exclusive but thankfully Cathy decided to release the chart so everyone who loves the sea can stitch it.  She did change the name to Wild Salt Air for several reasons. 1st – she kept calling ‘that wild salt hair’ chart at her house…you know – Beach Hair..Don’t Care! 2nd She saw finishing potential in each of these designs beyond the original finish, which included a metal scalloped tray. While she gives sources for the Spool & Corner Gauge – these could be a mini-drum & a pillow fob, the original aqua tray is no longer available. However, we were able to find the scallop tray in a light blue and a white which work perfectly with this project.  Finishing instructions for the Spool & Pincushion are included. There will be a tutorial on the website for the Corner Gauge pocket.    The chart consists of the sampler, the pin cushion, a spool and a corner gauge bag.  over 2 on 28 ct. (model is stitched on Antique Ivory Cashel).  Stitched in DMC, 351, 402, 469, 611, 612, 747, 760, 3712, 3810, 3811, 3849, 3865.  Finishing directions are also included with the chart.
